MASCC Board Nominations

Nominating Committee Criteria for Ballot Development

Each nominee to be listed on the ballot must meet the following conditions:

• Paid MASCC membership for a minimum of two years immediately preceding induction into office as a Board member

and

• Consistent demonstrated evidence of commitment to MASCC’s mission and activities in recent years. This evidence can be provided in recommendation statements submitted to the Nominations Committee, or provided by Committee members who know the candidate. Examples of this evidence include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Attendance at MASCC Annual Meetings
  • Submission of abstracts to the Annual Meeting
  • Submission of manuscripts to the MASCC journal
  • Study Group participation
  • Active in fundraising for MASCC
  • Active in linking with other professional organizations that share and promote missions similar to that of MASCC
  • Advocacy for MASCC

and

• Demonstrated contributions to research, education, and/or patient care associated with supportive cancer care, including but not limited to publications in other journals, presentations at other meetings, and/or participation in patient or caregiver educational venues.

Individuals fulfilling the above criteria will be considered for nomination on the basis of the following additional parameters:

  • Potential scope of contribution to MASCC/ISOO with regard to the MASCC strategic plan
  • Professional background and experience
  • Geographic location
