Summary of Workshop Presentation at the 15th International MASCC/ISOO Symposium
Berlin, June 21st, 2003 

"Designing and Analyzing the Health-Related Quality-of-Life (HRQOL) Components of Supportive Care Clinical Trials"

The workshop was given by Dr, David Osoba, Chair of the QOL Study Section of MASCC/ISOO. 

This special workshop was offered, at no extra charge, on Saturday morning, June 21st at 0700-0800. Despite the early morning hour, the turn out was excellent with more than 40 attendees. 

The topics covered in the workshop included:

1. The need for stating a hypothesis about the HRQOL question being studied
2. Choosing appropriate questionnaires
3. Determining the appropriate timing of questionnaire administration
4. Dealing with feasibility issues of data collection
5. Understanding the best analysis approach to deal with the data, and
6. Understanding approaches for interpreting the data.
