The country profiles provide information such as population data, status of adherence to the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs and the status of the Competent Authority's reporting to International Narcotics Control Board (INCB); contact information for the Competent National Authority; opioid consumption statistics; and other useful links.

These Guidelines are available in 22 different languages and can be used by governments and health professionals to assess the national opioids control policies and their administration in any country to determine if they contain the provisions, procedures and cooperation that are necessary to ensure the availability of opioid analgesics.
