MASCC Symposia The MASCC/ISOO International Symposium on Supportive Care in Cancer is designed to educate and inform an international audience of health care professionals on methods to minimize therapy-induced side effects and the syptoms and complications associated with cancer. Objectives: Recommend appropriate supportive care measures for the cancer patient experiencing disease or treatment-related problems including pain, fatigue, neutropenia, cachexia, mucositis, nausea/vomiting, psychological concerns, quality of life, and palliative care issues. Integrate current research in supportive care measures in the practice settings. Define controversial issues in the care of patients with advanced disease. Discuss current concepts of psychosocial care and quality of life issues in supportive and palliative medicine. Target Audience: This symposium is intended to physicians, nurses, dentists, oral surgeons, dental hygienists, pharmacists, social workers, nutritionists, and other health care providers involved with the care of cancer patients.
