Featured Liaison Organization 
MASCC has had a long-standing relationship with the European Oncology Nursing Society (EONS). Several of MASCC's nurse members have served in leadership roles of this organization including Sultan Kav who is the current president-elect and Alexander Molassiotis who is editor-in-chief of their journal, European Journal of Oncology Nursing. The Society recognizes the diverse aspects of nursing across Europe and strives to work towards equitable basic training and continuing education for nurses in the area of cancer nursing. To this end, they have enhances educational programes through an accreditation process, initiates clinical projects and provides support for nursing research. The activities of EONS are directed toward empowering cancer nurses to attain due recognition as specialists. Membership is comprised of individual cancer nurses, national oncology nursing societies and institutions and agencies in Europe involved in cancer care. It has a membership of over 50 organizations, which in turn represent approximately 15000 nurses in 25 European countries. Check out the EONS website |
