2007-2008 ISOO Election Results: 
Results of the 2007-2008 ISOO election are in!  Congratulations to Michael Brennan DDS, MHS who was re-elected treasurer and to Sharon Elad, DMD, MSc who was re-elected secretary.  Both will be serving a two-year term.
 
Professional Liaison Featured: IAHPC
Meet the International Association of Hospice and Palliative Care (IAHPC) with whom MASCC has had a liaison relationship for several years. The goal of IAHPC, similar to that of our palliative care study group, is to help alleviate the physical and psychosocial suffering associated with progressive, incurable illness.  They support programs, projects and individuals around the world, especially in developing countries in Africa, Eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America.  To this end, they annually provide travel fellowships and program development grants. IAHPC is governed by a 24 member board some of whom are also MASCC members.

Declan Walsh, chair of the palliative care study group and Eoin Tieman chair of the psychosocial study group have recently stepped down from their position. We thank them for their time and contributions as leaders of these groups.

Aminah Jatoi, Chair of the nutrition study group has been awarded a grant from Mayo Clinic to explore the approach used in nutrition management at the end of life in cancer patients internationally
