New MASCC Executive Director Melissa Chin

We are pleased to announce and introduce the new Executive Director of MASCC, Melissa Chin. Melissa is an Honours in Life Science graduate of the University of Toronto and holds an MBA with Honours from McMaster University. With experience in strategy, mergers and integrations, corporate planning, project management and working with international partners, Melissa was most recently employed as Manager of Corporate Planning at The University Health Network (UHN), McMaster University, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. UHN, which is also affiliated with the University of Toronto, includes Toronto General and Toronto Western Hospitals, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, and the Michener Institute for Education at UHN. Prior to working at UHN, Melissa worked at Deloitte in the management consulting practice specifically focusing on advisory services in health care strategy and operations helping clients develop innovative and practical solutions. Melissa’s experience has resulted in her being recognised as a Certified Health Executive, a professional designation offered to Canadian health leaders who have demonstrated a commitment to health leadership and knowledge of current health care leadership practices. President Ian Olver has noted that, “In Melissa, we have a leader whose diverse experience will impact many aspects of MASCC’s current and future plans.” We all look forward to working with her as MASCC’s reputation and influence continue to grow. Melissa will assume the office of Executive Director on March 28, 2017.
