These materials provide instructions on caring for the mouth during active chemotherapy, and on self-care before, during, and after head-and-neck radiation. The Fact Sheets, based on systematic reviews, guidelines, and up-to-date, evidenced-based recommendations, are available in 18 languages.

Supportive Care for Cancer Patients: First Regional Meeting for Eastern Europe and the Balkan Region
The First Regional Educational Meeting on Supportive Care in Cancer Patients for Eastern Europe and the Balkan Region was held in Belgrade, Serbia, December 2-3, 2016. The meeting promoted supportive care as an integral part of comprehensive cancer care. Speakers presented supportive care guidelines and discussed their implementation in clinical practice. Topics also covered prevention and management of the major adverse effects of cancer and its treatment. The meeting was initiated by Snežana Bošnjak, Research Professor and Clinical Pharmacologist in the Supportive Oncology Service at the Institute for Oncology and Radiology of Serbia in Belgrade, and was held under the auspices of MASCC and the European School of Oncology (ESO), with the support of the Serbian Society of Medical Oncology (UMOS) and the European Society of Gynecological Oncology (ESGO). Meeting Co-Chairs were Matti Aapro, who represented both MASCC and ESO, and Dorothy Keefe, who represented MASCC. Besides Matti, Snežana, and Dorothy, the speakers included several other MASCC members: Sam Ahmedzai, Jeffrey Crawford, Petra Feyer, Richard Gralla, Jørn Herrstedt, Carla Ripamonti, Marija Ristic, and Fausto Roila. The meeting helped to lay the foundation for many productive future collaborations in supportive care education and research.
