MASCC/ISOO is committed to providing a safe and comfortable Annual Meeting for all in-person delegates. Therefore, the following protocols and policies will be implemented during the MASCC/ISOO 2022 Annual Meeting in Toronto.

We will continue to monitor the situation in Toronto and follow public health guidelines.

Everyone’s needs are different. We encourage you to research the travel medical and cancellation insurance options available to you from your home country and purchase the best option that suits you. In addition to standard medical and cancellation coverage, some providers are now offering COVID-19 coverage. In general, this includes hospital expenditure because of COVID-19 and in some cases, quarantine costs in the event of a positive diagnosis out of the country. All delegates will manage their own travel arrangements to attend the Annual Meeting. When purchasing your flights, many airlines offer insurance package add-ons when you book your tickets. MASCC is not responsible to ensure medical and cancellation coverage is purchased by delegates traveling to the MASCC/ISOO Annual Meeting.

Proof of Vaccination 

All delegates will be required to provide proof of vaccination when registering on site to pick-up their name badge. "Fully-vaccinated" is defined as two doses of Canadian-approved vaccines, administered a minimum of 14 days prior to the meeting. Proof of vaccination must be certified-translated into English or French (this is also required of any international delegates arriving in Canada).

Physical Distancing
When possible, we encourage physical distancing between delegates. The meeting rooms will be set with extra seating to allow for more space when attending a session. Updates may be made closer to the meeting dates.
Mask Guidelines

Currently, there is no mask mandate in Toronto for indoor spaces, with the exception of high-risk places (public transportation, hospitals, long-term care homes). However, we encourage all delegates to wear a mask when they are not eating or drinking. We are continuing to monitor the situation and public health guidelines. Updates may be made closer to the meeting dates.
Sanitization Stations

The meeting venue will have sanitization stations set up throughout the meeting space.
If You Are Not Feeling Well

If you are not feeling well, please do not travel. You may still attend the meeting virtually, as we will be livestreaming a selection of sessions. Sessions which are not livestreamed will be recorded and uploaded to the virtual meeting platform within a week of the meeting. The sessions will be available for all registered delegates for 60 days after the live meeting dates.

If you have traveled to Toronto and find yourself feeling unwell, please self-isolate in your hotel room. Please keep us informed, so that we may ensure your comfort and assist with medical attention, should you require it. You may contact us at [email protected] or by direct message in the Event App (details to be shared closer to the meeting dates). You may still attend the meeting virtually as we will be livestreaming a selection of sessions.
