About Toronto, Canada
Toronto is a vibrant and diverse city with more than 50% of the population born outside of Canada. As a result, the foodie delights, arts and culture, and summer festivals are abundant. If you have the opportunity to extend your stay beyond the Annual Meeting, we encourage you to explore everything this great city has to offer. For more information to plan your trip, please visit www.destinationtoronto.com/.

Getting Here
By Air

When arranging your flights from international destinations, you will want to fly into Toronto Pearson International Airport. There are over 70 airlines serving Toronto Pearson International Airport and air carriers provide non-stop service to numerous destinations in Canada, the United States and the world.

If you are flying from domestic locations in Eastern Canada, or from major US cities in the North East, you may also look to fly into Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ). The airport is located on Toronto Island, just a short 10-minute ferry ride or 10-minute walk in the underwater tunnel to downtown Toronto. Porter Airlines and Air Canada are the only airlines who cater to this airport.

By Rail

VIA Rail and AMTRAK bring visitors into the heart of the city each day to Toronto’s Union Station from domestic and nearby US cities.

By Road

Several highways, including the 404/Don Valley Parkway, 401, and Queen Elizabeth Way link surrounding cities to Toronto. For those driving from the south, the nearest Canada-U.S. border crossings are at Niagara Falls, Fort Erie and Windsor.

Entry Requirements into Canada

When you enter Canada, a Canada Border Services Agent will ask you to present your passport and a valid visa (if one is necessary).

Please visit the following Canada Border Services Agency’s website pages here for:
     • Visa & Passport Documentation Entry Requirements for Canada
     • COVID-19 Entry Requirements for Canada

If you are a visa-exempt foreign national arriving by air, you may require an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). Eligible travelers can apply online for an eTA. To find out more, please visit www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/eta.html.

Some delegates may require an invitation letter from MASCC to apply for a visa or enter the country. To request one, please contact [email protected].

Health & Safety / COVID-19 Protocols

MASCC is committed to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all meeting delegates. We are actively monitoring the COVID-19 mandated public health and safety protocols and will comply with all federal, provincial and local health authorities requirements.

We encourage you to visit the websites below for the current information regarding entry requirements to Canada and Toronto Public Health Guidelines as it relates to COVID-19:
       • COVID-19 Entry Requirements for Canada
       • Ontario Public Health for Meetings & Events Spaces
       • Toronto Public Health for Indoor & Outdoor Events & Gatherings (This site may lag in updates behind Ontario)

More detailed information regarding our on-site safety measures will be provided closer to the meeting dates. If you have any questions about our health and safety measures, please contact at [email protected].

Everyone’s needs are different. We encourage you to research the travel medical and cancellation insurance options available to you from your home country and purchase the best option that suits you. In addition to standard medical and cancellation coverage, some providers are now offering COVID-19 coverage. In general, this includes hospital expenditure because of COVID-19 and in some cases, quarantine costs in the event of a positive diagnosis out of the country.

All delegates will manage their own travel arrangements to attend the Annual Meeting. When purchasing your flights, many airlines offer insurance package add-ons when you book your tickets. MASCC is not responsible to ensure medical and cancellation coverage is purchased by delegates traveling to the MASCC/ISOO Annual Meeting.
