An important activity of MASCC is the development of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines on supportive care in cancer. These guidelines help clinicians to optimally manage the side-effects of cancer therapy.

The following practice tools have been developed by MASCC. Non-profit entities may use these tools free of charge. Use by commercial companies requires written approval from MASCC, with the terms of agreement specified. There is also a nominal fee. Please contact MASCC Executive Director Melissa Chin at [email protected] for approval procedure or questions.

  • MAT - MASCC Antiemesis Tool App for iphone and android
  • Calculate by QxMD - (Free) Calculate the MASCC Febrile Neutropenia score in addition to included tools which are useful in clinical practice and serve to impact diagnosis, treatment or determining prognosis.

MASCC maintains a an International Pain Management Center, which includes a comprehensive bibliography of articles on pain management and palliative care articles from Supportive Care in Cancer, the official journal of MASCC.

Guidelines MASCC-Endorsed Practice Guidelines

MASCC has endorsed the following practice guidelines. Endorsement of external (non-MASCC) guidelines requires internal review and recommendation and approval by MASCC’s Executive Committee. Endorsement signifies that the guidelines are consistent with the best evidence available and are suitable for use in practice. For more information, see the MASCC Guideline Policy

Workshop icon  Workshops

  • MASCC/ISOO Annual Meeting - Study Group Workshops  Each year, the MASCC/ISOO Annual Meeting features several in-depth, pre-conference workshops sponsored by one or more Study Groups. Information about forthcoming and past workshops is available.
  • CancerCare Telephone/Internet Education Workshops - CancerCare provides free educational programs appropriate for people with cancer, as well as their families and caregivers. These free workshops include such topics as diagnosis, treatment options, and quality of life.
